Navy rescues 2 Children after Jet Ski accident at Gregory Lake

Two children aged 11 and 13 were rescued by the Sri Lanka Navy after a jet ski they were riding overturned at Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya.

The incident occurred on August 16 while the children were engaged in water sports at the lake.

Navy personnel from the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU), who were deployed on lifesaving duties at Gregory Lake, witnessed the incident and immediately responded.

The Navy said the personnel rescued the two children, who were at risk of drowning, and brought them safely to shore.

The children, aged 11 and 13, are residents of the Minuwangoda area.

Following the rescue, they were handed over to the Nuwara Eliya Police for further action.(Newswire)
