Applications open for 11th phase of interest-free student loan scheme

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has opened applications for student intake under the 11th phase of the Interest-Free Student Loan Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic cycle.

Applications will be accepted from Aug. 17, 2026, to Sept. 27, 2026.

Students who sat for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in 2023, 2024 or 2025 may apply if they obtained at least three simple passes in three subjects.

Applicants must also have obtained at least a simple pass in English at either the G.C.E. Advanced Level or G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, and a minimum of 30 marks in the Common General Test.

Applicants must be 25 years old or younger as of the application closing date, Sept. 27, 2026.

The scheme provides opportunities for students to follow more than 129 degree programs offered by 16 degree-awarding institutions. The programs cover fields including engineering technology, information technology, science, commerce, humanities and arts.
