The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has seized a stock of vehicle spare parts and lubricants worth nearly Rs. 5 million from a shop on the Kadawatha-Ganemulla Road for allegedly selling and storing products that did not meet required standards.
CAA officers from the Competition Promotion Division raided the shop in the Pasal Mawatha area following several violations, including selling and storing lubricants and vehicle spare parts in breach of CAA Orders 85 and 88 and failing to display prices.
The seized items have been sealed, while samples have been taken for further testing.
The CAA said further investigations are underway and legal action will be taken against the shop owner and relevant traders. (Newswire)
