The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000 for students with special education needs from low-income families.
The programme is being implemented under the 2026 Budget proposals, with applications previously called from schools across the country, the government said.
Accordingly, a total of 5,530 students have been identified as eligible for the allowance.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal presented by the Prime Minister in her capacity as Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education to allocate the necessary funds to provide the monthly allowance to all eligible students. (Newswire)
