Sri Lankan batter Kamil Mishara makes his Test debut in the second and final Test against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Colombo today (23).

The 25-year-old left-hander was named in Sri Lanka’s playing XI and will open the batting alongside Lahiru Udara as the hosts look to bounce back from their 165-run defeat in the opening Test in Galle.

Mishara earned his call-up following a strong run of form, including a 174 for Sri Lanka A against New Zealand A earlier this year.

Sri Lanka XI: Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, Kamindu Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva (c), Sonal Dinusha, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. (Newswire)
