Two suspects have been arrested with more than 1,044 kilograms of cannabis and over 54,000 cannabis plants during two raids in the Hambegamuwa Police area.
Police said officers of the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force carried out the raids in the Gomagala area during the early hours and afternoon of Saturday (22), based on information received.
During one raid, a suspect was arrested with 1,044 kg and 180 grams of cannabis.
In a separate raid, another suspect was arrested in possession of 54,096 cannabis plants.
The suspects, aged 30 and 38, are residents of the Ethambalawa area. They were handed over to the Hambegamuwa Police Station for further investigations. (Newswire)
