
Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesha Tharanga has returned to the top of the world rankings after briefly dropping to second place, according to the latest rankings.
Tharanga has 1,363 ranking points, putting him 21 points ahead of Germany’s Julian Weber, who has 1,342 points and is now ranked second.
Grenada’s Anderson Peters is ranked third.
India’s Neeraj Chopra, who mounted a strong challenge to Tharanga at the recently concluded Diamond League competition, is ranked sixth with 1,301 points. (Newswire)
