Police are seeking public assistance to locate a Chinese national wanted in connection with the alleged abduction and killing of another Chinese national following an incident in Colombo Port City.
According to police, three Chinese nationals staying in the Colombo Port City area were assaulted on July 23, 2026, with one of the victims subsequently abducted and killed.
The Colombo District Crime Division launched an investigation after information emerged linking three Chinese nationals to the crime.
Two of the three suspects, aged 35 and 43, were arrested on August 28 while staying at a lodge in the Sigiriya Police area.
Police said the two suspects are due to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Investigations are continuing to arrest the third suspect, with police seeking information from the public that could assist in locating him.
