
A 25-year-old man has been arrested with 400 medicine tablets allegedly kept for illegal sale during a joint operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police in Anuradhapura.
According to the Navy, the operation was conducted at Matale Junction in Anuradhapura on Aug. 29 following information received by SLNS Pandukabhaya of the North Central Naval Command.
Naval personnel, together with officers from Anuradhapura Police, searched a suspicious individual in the area and recovered 400 medicine tablets allegedly intended for illegal sale.
The suspect, a resident of Anuradhapura, was taken into custody along with the seized tablets.
He and the seized medicine were handed over to Anuradhapura Police for further legal action. (Newswire)
