India donates 10 Water Purification Units to Galle National Hospital

India has donated 10 water purification units to the Galle National Hospital as a contribution from the people of India.

The units were officially handed over on August 29 by Acting High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Maitrey Kulkarni and Consul General of India in Hambantota Harvinder Singh to the hospital’s Deputy Director General, Consultant Dr. Priyantha Atapattu.

The water purification units are expected to be installed at several identified locations across the hospital premises.

The first unit, installed near the hospital’s main entrance, was also officially opened during the event.

The Indian delegation also toured the hospital’s emergency treatment facilities, including the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) and Emergency Treatment Centre (ETC). (Newswire)
