PM Harini leaves for Bhutan to attend Global Food Systems Summit

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya departed Sri Lanka on Monday (Aug. 31) for an official visit to Bhutan to participate in the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit.

According to the Prime Minister’s Media Division, Amarasuriya will participate in the summit’s opening plenary on Sept. 1 and deliver a keynote address under the theme, “Rising to the Moment: Igniting Consciousness to Address the Polycrisis.”

During the visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold discussions with international leaders and representatives on strengthening cooperation on sustainable food systems, food security and building resilient communities. (Newswire)
