
Sri Lanka Customs has seized more than 200,000 Chinese-made cigarettes concealed inside metal doors imported from China.
The detection was made by officers of the Customs Revenue Task Force while examining a container carrying imported goods.
Customs said the cigarettes had been carefully concealed inside the doors in an attempt to evade detection.
The seized cigarettes have an estimated market value of more than Rs. 30 million.
Further investigations are being conducted by officers of the Customs Revenue Task Force. (Newswire)
