Retired Air Chief Marshal Thushara Indunil Fernando today officially assumed duties as the new Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.
The ceremony took place at the department’s head office on Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 05, under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Prasanna Gunasena.
Fernando began his responsibilities amidst religious observances conducted by the Chief Incumbent of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, Venerable Kirinde Assaji Thero, together with members of the Maha Sangha.
The event was attended by Acting Commissioner General Tharaka Devapriya, Commissioner (Development) Vishaka Kumaraguru, Commissioner (Investigations) Nimalika Kumari, and several other senior officials of the department. (Newswire)
