Senior Police Officer Roshan Amarasinghe has been appointed as the new Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The Police Media Division announced that the appointment was made on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), citing service requirements.
The post became vacant following the promotion of Shani Abeysekara, who previously served as CID Director, to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
Police further confirmed that Abeysekara will continue to function as the DIG in charge of the CID, ensuring continuity in leadership while Amarasinghe assumes directorial responsibilities. (Newswire)
