Former Mayor of the Hambantota Municipal Council Eraj Ravindra Fernando has been found dead at a flat in Bambalapitiya, police said.
According to police, Fernando’s body was found hanging inside the premises.
Police suspect that he died by suicide, while investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
