The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for Saturday (5) covering the North Central and Eastern provinces and five districts.
The advisory, issued at 4 p.m. Friday (4), applies to the Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Monaragala districts.
The heat index, or the temperature felt by the human body, is expected to reach the “Caution” level in some areas during the daytime.
Authorities have urged the public in the affected areas to take necessary precautions against the warm conditions. (Newswire)
