Two unidentified men on a motorcycle carried out a hand‑grenade attack on a residence in the Kalubowila, Dehiwala area late last night, Police said.
The incident occurred at around 11.45 pm yesterday (09), when the suspects hurled a grenade inside the gate of the house before fleeing.
The explosion damaged two windows and glass panes at the front of the residence, but no casualties were reported.
Investigations have revealed that the targeted house belongs to an individual identified as a close associate of a large‑scale drug trafficker.
At the time of the attack, only a 56‑year‑old woman was inside the house.
The Kohuwala Police Station has launched further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
