The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level warm weather advisory for Friday (11), covering the North Central and Eastern provinces and several districts.
The advisory, issued at 4 p.m. Thursday (10), applies to Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Kurunegala, Monaragala and Hambantota districts.
The heat index, which reflects the temperature felt by the human body, is expected to reach the “Caution” level in some areas during the daytime.
The public has also been advised to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade, while strenuous outdoor activities should be limited. (Newswire)
