Five suspects arrested for allegedly extracting sand illegally without a permit from the Nawimalayaya Sanctuary were produced before the Kantale Magistrate’s Court, officials said.
The suspects were arrested during a raid conducted in the sanctuary on Sept. 2.
The court released each suspect on a personal bail of Rs. 100,000, while further investigations are to be conducted by the Kantale Wildlife Range Office. (Newswire)
