Rumesh Pathirage capped a stunning breakthrough season to win the men’s javelin at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship Budapest 26 on Sunday (13).
The Sri Lankan took the lead in round three with 87.11m and then improved to 91.09m in the final round. Two-time world champion Anderson Peters finished second with 86.18m.
European champion Julian Weber, who led in the first round, finished third with 85.89m. (Newswire)
