Court of Appeal to deliver order on Dilith Jayaweera’s writ petition on September 30

The Court of Appeal has announced that it will deliver its order on September 30 regarding the writ petition filed by Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera.

Jayaweera’s petition seeks to nullify the complaint filed against him by the Fort Magistrate’s Court on charges of contempt of court.

The announcement was made today (18) after the petition was considered before a three‑judge bench of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Court President Rohantha Abeysuriya.

Accordingly, the decision on the petition is scheduled to be pronounced on September 30. (Newswire)
