The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas for multi‑day boats in the Bay of Bengal deep‑sea areas, effective for the next 24 hours starting from 5:00 pm today (18).
According to the Met Department, the atmospheric disturbance north of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal is likely to develop into a low‑pressure area within the next 24 hours.
As a result, wind speeds over the Bay of Bengal sea areas are expected to increase over the next few days beginning tomorrow (19).
In certain areas, winds may reach 55–65 kmph, making the seas rough to very rough at times. (Newswire)
