Canadian authorities have seized 44 kg of hashish and 13 kg of cocaine from a traveller’s luggage at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The drugs were destined for Sri Lanka, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
The agency said the traveller was arrested and handed over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), along with the seized drugs.
Photographs released by the CBSA show several packages of suspected narcotics displayed alongside three suitcases.
The seizure took place on September 3 and was publicly announced by the CBSA on September 23.
Canadian authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s identity or details of any charges filed in connection with the seizure. (Newswire)
