A 76-year-old man has died by suicide after allegedly killing his 75-year-old wife at their home in the Kirindiwela area yesterday (29).
The incident occurred at the couple’s residence on Kohilagala Road in Millathe, Kirindiwela.
According to reports, the man, a father of two, had left behind a letter stating that his wife had been suffering from a serious illness and explaining his stated reason for killing her and subsequently taking his own life.
The letter reportedly also contained a request that their bodies be kept together following his death.
The man later died by suicide involving a train in the Veyangoda area. (Newswire)
