A stock of over 100 kilograms of heroin has been recovered by the Police Special Task Force (STF) from Kapparatota Beach in Weligama, according to the Government Information Department.
The recovery follows earlier reports that six sacks weighing over 120 kilograms, suspected to contain narcotics, had been discovered along the Mirissa coast in Matara.
Reports stated that five suspects had been taken into custody in connection with the discovery.
