Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera is scheduled to be produced before court wearing his robes on October 23, in accordance with the amended prison regulations, Minister of Buddhasasana Hiniduma Sunil Senevi has said.
The minister said the Commissioner-General of Buddhist Affairs had written to the Mahanayake Thera of the Nikaya to which Gnanasara Thera belongs, seeking guidance on the appropriate procedure to be followed when presenting him before court in robes.
The Commissioner-General has also sought the necessary guidance to inform the Commissioner-General of Prisons on the matter, the minister said. (Newswire)
