The Department of Wildlife Conservation has reported that veterinary treatment is being provided to a sick elephant calf in the Wewelketiya area of Medawachchiya.
According to the Department, officials from the Pandulagama Wildlife Veterinary Unit provided further treatment to the ailing elephant calf yesterday (21).
Photographs released in connection with the treatment show the elephant calf lying on the ground while wildlife veterinary personnel attend to the animal.
The Department has not provided further details regarding the calf’s medical condition or the cause of its illness. (Newswire)
