A wild elephant from Kusumgama in Gallella, Polonnaruwa, has been safely transferred to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home for further medical treatment.
According to the Department of Wildlife Conservation, the elephant was transported to the facility yesterday (29).
The Department stated that treatment has commenced under the supervision of wildlife veterinarian Malaka Kasun Abeywardhana, who is in charge of the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home.
The elephant will receive further veterinary care at the facility. (Newswire)
