The newly constructed Ella Rock View Holiday Resort, established for police officers in the Ella Police Division, was officially opened on October 31 under the patronage of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Attorney Priyantha Weerasooriya.
The resort is among three newly completed facilities in the Bandarawela Police Division. The other two are an official residence for the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and a lecture hall constructed for the Haldummulla Police Station.
The projects were completed under an initiative launched by the IGP to address issues faced by police officers and reduce long-term government expenditure on rented accommodation for police station OICs.
Senior police officers, including Senior DIG in charge of the Uva Province Mahesh Senaratne, Senior DIG in charge of Police Auxiliary Services Rajitha Sri Daminda and DIG in charge of the Monaragala Division Nihal Thalduwa, attended the opening ceremony. (Newswire)
