A delegation of media representatives from Singapore is undertaking a familiarisation tour of Sri Lanka from November 1 to 7, aimed at promoting the country as an attractive tourism destination among Singaporean travellers.
According to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore, the visit has been organised in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and the Singapore Press Club.
The delegation, led by Singapore Press Club Vice-President Baghman Singh, will explore Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, tourism attractions, hospitality and culinary experiences during the visit.
The High Commission said a pre-departure briefing was held on October 28 at its premises in Singapore, with participating journalists attending in person and SLTPB officials joining virtually.
The briefing outlined the tour programme and highlighted Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings.
Following the visit, the journalists are expected to share their experiences through their respective media platforms, helping raise awareness of Sri Lanka as a travel destination among Singaporean audiences.
The High Commission said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen media and people-to-people engagement between Sri Lanka and Singapore while promoting the country’s tourism potential. (Newswire)
