Sri Lanka’s flag bearers Julie Hope and Tarek Bluck led the country’s delegation at the opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, held on October 31.
According to the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL), the two flag bearers carried the national flag as the Sri Lankan contingent joined athletes and officials from around the world at the ceremony in Dakar.
The NOCSL described the occasion as a proud moment for Team Sri Lanka, marking the beginning of the country’s participation in the international sporting event.
The Committee said Sri Lanka’s young athletes are preparing to represent the country at the Youth Olympic Games, showcasing their sporting abilities on the international stage. (Newswire)
