The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and the National Transport Commission (NTC) have jointly launched a special bus service for passengers traveling from Colombo to their hometowns for the upcoming Deepavali festival.

With Deepavali falling on November 8, a large number of commuters are expected to arrive at the Pettah Central Bus Stand and the Bastian Mawatha Private Bus Stand starting November 6. According to the institution managing the SLTB seat reservation service, a significant number of seats on buses operating from Colombo to areas including Hatton, Talawakelle, and Nuwara Eliya for November 6 and 7 have already been fully booked.

Additionally, seat reservations for buses traveling to destinations such as Jaffna, Vavuniya, Badulla, Batticaloa and Ampara are rapidly selling out. To avoid heavy festive rush and ensure a hassle-free journey, transport authorities advise the public to reserve their seats in advance by visiting 1315.lk or sltbeseat.lk. (Newswire)
