B.H. Meniyal, a resident of Angulugalla in Karandeniya, who is considered Sri Lanka’s oldest living man, has reached the age of 111, according to the National Secretariat for Elders.
Born on June 4, 1915, Meniyal continues to enjoy good mental health, with a sharp memory and awareness despite his advanced age.
According to the National Secretariat for Elders, he remains happy and mentally active, receiving care and support from his family.
Meniyal is the father of nine children, including five sons and four daughters.
While his eldest child has passed away, his remaining eight children are alive and in good health.
His family also includes 92 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The National Secretariat for Elders said his children collectively ensure his well-being by providing the necessary care, facilities and opportunities to remain socially engaged.
Officials from the National Secretariat for Elders and the Karandeniya Divisional Secretariat visited his residence on Tuesday (03) to honour and recognise him as Sri Lanka’s oldest living man. (Newswire)
