The “National Single Window for Trade” system was officially launched today (05) under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, marking a major milestone in Sri Lanka’s trade facilitation efforts.
As part of the initial phase, exporters are being onboarded sector-wise, with the coconut and tea sectors selected for the first phase. During the go-live session, private sector businesses selected to participate successfully created the first Customs Declaration (CusDec) through the new National Single Window for Trade system.
Following further refinements based on the initial findings, the Ministry expects to open the platform to additional business sectors in the near future. Media Secretary to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, P.R. Chathurka Madhushan, highlighted the contributions of private sector participants, chamber representatives, government institutions, GovTech, and the Lanka Software Foundation in realizing this digital initiative.
