A Cabinet paper has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers to reclaim the management of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) in Malabe under the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund, Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe informed Parliament yesterday (November 5).
The Minister said the government had investigated details regarding the institute over the past two years after coming into power, leading to complaints being lodged with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He made these remarks in response to an oral question raised by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Ratnapura District Member of Parliament Hesha Withanage. (Newswire)
