Former Minister and National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa has called on the public to donate teddy bears for a planned anti-war protest highlighting the impact of the Middle East conflict on children.
In a statement issued today (13), Weerawansa said the teddy bears will be used symbolically at a future demonstration opposing the war, aimed at voicing concern over how conflicts deprive children of a peaceful world.
He urged the public to donate teddy bears of any size before March 17 to the National Freedom Front headquarters located at No. 428/1, Robert Gunawardena Mawatha, Battaramulla.
According to the announcement, the collected teddy bears will be displayed during the anti-war exhibition as a symbolic representation of the voices of children affected by war.
The NFF also provided contact numbers for further inquiries regarding the initiative. (Newswire)
