Police have arrested a man on suspicion of killing his father with a sharp weapon.
The incident occurred on the morning of April 24 in the Athirahapitiya area within the Matale Police Division, police said.
The victim was identified as a 64-year-old resident of Athirahapitiya.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect, the victim’s son, allegedly carried out the attack following an argument that escalated, according to Police.
The 33-year-old suspect has been taken into custody.
