The Office of the Deputy Minister of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs says a young man who voluntarily served during the COVID‑19 pandemic has been granted the opportunity to participate in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage free of charge.
Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffar officially handed over the air tickets and documents yesterday (04) at his office to Moulavi Sameem, who was nominated by his peers for his dedication.
Sameem was part of a youth group from Ottamavadi that assisted in the burial of COVID‑19 victims at great personal risk.
In recognition of his service, the group proposed his name to receive the honour of joining the pilgrimage. (Newswire)
