Sri Lanka will host the First the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Health Ministers’ Meeting alongside the BIMSTEC Senior Officials’ Meeting on Health in Colombo from November 10 to 11, 2026.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Health and Media to organize the high level regional gathering.
The initiative stems from decisions made during the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok in April 2025, where Sri Lanka was named the lead country for public health cooperation within the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation. (Newswire)
