A red landslide warning has been issued for the Yatinuwara Divisional Secretariat Division in Kandy District, with authorities urging residents in high-risk areas to move to safe locations.
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) issued the alert at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, warning of potential landslides in areas with open slopes, low-lying lands, cut embankments and roads passing through vulnerable terrain.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said residents in affected areas of Yatinuwara should evacuate to designated safe centres as a precautionary measure. (Newswire)
