A 44-year-old man who was critically injured in a shooting in the Jinthupitiya area under the Harbour Police Division on Friday night (16) has died after being admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo, Police said.
The shooting occurred in the area known as Jinthupitiya 125 Watta. During the incident, a young boy and a young girl also sustained gunshot injuries and were admitted to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children for treatment.
Police said the suspects arrived in a three-wheeler, opened fire, and fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing. (Newswire)
