Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Mannar, Anuradhapura and Vavuniya districts after 2.00 pm, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Misty conditions can be expected in some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kaluthara, Gampaha, Kurunegala and Anuradhapura districts in the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Matara via Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Hambantota.
Winds will be South-easterly or variable in direction. Wind speed will be 20-30 kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (Newswire)
