
The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka today ruled that former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon and two others violated the fundamental rights of Public Security Ministry Secretary Ravi Seneviratne and Criminal Investigations Department DIG Shani Abeysekara.
The court ruled that Tennakoon and two others violated the fundamental rights of Ravi Seneviratne and Shani Abeysekara through investigations conducted against them pertaining to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
The court has determined that the fundamental rights of the duo were violated by former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, Chief Inspector Indika Silva, and DIG Palitha Siriwardena by operating according to political agendas. (Newswire)
