Nine women have been arrested on suspicion of engaging in street prostitution in Dehiwala, police said.
The suspects, aged between 26 and 51, are residents of Ratmalana, Maharagama, Dehiwala and Moratuwa.
They were taken into custody last night (10) during a raid conducted by officers from the Mount Lavinia Division Crime Investigation Unit in the Dehiwala area.
The suspects were handed over to the Dehiwala Police for further investigations. (Newswire)
