Following information received by Army Intelligence, a joint raid conducted with the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Kantale on November 3 uncovered a large-scale illegal cannabis cultivation inside the Somawathiya Reserve in Agbopura, Divulgaswewa.
During the operation, authorities raided a three-acre plantation containing over 35,000 cannabis plants and discovered an additional two acres of land being prepared for further cultivation.
One suspect was arrested at the scene, and the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Kantale, is conducting further legal proceedings regarding the incident. (Newswire)
