JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva met a delegation from the World Buddhist Scholars’ Alliance (WOBSA), including prominent Indian actor and Buddhist activist Dr. Gagan Malik, at the JVP headquarters yesterday (27).
The delegation was led by Prof. Malapalli Laxmaiah, Special Officer of the Buddhavanam Project in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Discussions focused on protecting Buddhist heritage, promoting Buddhist culture and strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between Sri Lanka and India.
The meeting also explored opportunities for cooperation to promote peace, reconciliation and friendship between the two countries, according to Tilvin Silva. (Newswire)
