A group of United National Party (UNP) members visited the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya this morning (26) to meet the Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya chapter, the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera.
The group, including UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Party General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala, and a group of senior party members, engaged in a discussion with the Chief Prelate and the senior monastic community.
During the meeting, they discussed the current situation surrounding former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as well as the prevailing political and economic conditions in the country.
They also received blessings from the Chief Prelate for the former President’s current health condition. (Newswire)
