24‑hour water cut in Colombo and suburbs

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced a 24‑hour suspension of water supply in several areas of Colombo and its suburbs, beginning tomorrow (03) at 8.00 pm and continuing until Friday (04) at 8.00 pm

The Water Board said the interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.

Areas affected include Nugegoda, Kohuwala, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawatawatta, Soysapura, Angulana, Indibedda, Katubedda, Kaldemulla, Modara, Koralaewella, Egodauyana, and Katukurunda.

In addition, the water cut will also impact Sethsiripaya, Himbutana, Udomulla Road, Maligagodella, Bank Junction Road, W.A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06, Hospital Roundabout Road, Jayanthi Mawatha, and Shanthi Mawatha.

Expressing regret over the inconvenience, the Water Board urged residents in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the suspension period. (Newswire)
