A small light aircraft reportedly collided with the CITIC Tower (China Zun), a 109-storey skyscraper in Beijing, which is the tallest building in the Chinese capital and one of its most famous landmarks. According to foreign media reports, emergency services quickly evacuated people from the building after the incident, and videos shared on social media show debris falling from the upper sections of the tower.
Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft was a Chinese-made “Sunward SA60L Aurora” light sport plane. It is believed the aircraft deviated from its planned flight path before striking the building. At the time of the accident, only the pilot was on board. (Newswire)
