A shipment of Nestlé KitKat chocolate bars weighing 12 tonnes has been stolen in Europe in what authorities have described as a major chocolate heist ahead of the Easter season.
According to reports, the truck carrying the chocolates went missing while transporting the consignment from Italy to Poland. The shipment reportedly contained more than 400,000 KitKat bars.
Nestlé confirmed the theft and warned that the incident could lead to supply disruptions in some markets, particularly as demand for chocolates typically rises ahead of Easter.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while the stolen truck and chocolates remain missing.
The theft comes at a time when retailers across Europe are stocking up for Easter, raising concerns that the missing shipment could contribute to temporary shortages in stores. (Newswire)
